What if a local machine learning model could see your desktop and hear what you say? I integrated Whisper to enable voice transcription, providing a faster, more accurate, and offline method of communication. You can simply speak to receive assistance with tasks such as answering Slack messages, correcting grammar, and posting on social platforms—all without the need for internet access.
The app can also see your desktop, which means there's no need to copy and paste in most situations; you can just invoke the app and talk to it. It sees what you see. The vision process is also offline and private. Nothing leaves your machine.

- Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No, everything runs locally; nothing leaves your device. All your data is processed directly on your device ensuring privacy and security.
- Are there any limits?
None. It’s your own local AI models, allowing unlimited usage without any restrictions.
- What models are supported?
Llama 3 comes out of the box, but if you have Ollama, the app automatically uses the model selected under Settings. Ollama is recommended as it saves space and gives you the flexibility to update the underlying reasoning models at any time.
- If I want to update, do I need to buy again?
No, you receive free updates forever. Once you purchase the app, future updates are included at no additional cost.
- Would you support feature X?
Maybe. I built this for myself and it's very opinionated. There's too much complex, overengineered software out there. I aim to keep things streamlined and functional.
- Can I use ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes, that's coming up soon.
- Will it work on my old Mac?
Rebound only runs well on Apple Silicon Macs. Intel Macs are not powerful enough to run these big models.
- My dictation is not working
Make sure you have enabled all required permissions and moved the app to the Applications folder. Also, check your system audio input settings to ensure it can recognize your voice.
- How much will it cost me?
This is a one-time small payment app. Pay once, use forever, and get all the updates as well. If you use network-based models, you will only pay for the number of tokens you use with services like OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini.
